Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Hare grew up around the dental field. Her mother was an orthodontic assistant, and the orthodontist she worked for played a big role in Dr. Hare’s decision to choose dentistry as a career. She saw how it was able to make a lasting, positive impact on people’s lives while allowing for strong patient relationships. Once she realized this, she knew it was the career for her.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After attending the University of Oklahoma and graduating from the College of Dentistry, Dr. Hare completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at OU. She started a practice from scratch, opening a dental office in Claremore, which ultimately became Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry.

In 1995, she received the Oklahoma Dental Association’s Young Dentist of the Year Award. She went on to co-found and develop the Green Country School of Dental Assisting in 2000, which is a training center for dental assistants in Claremore. She was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2006 and has been an active member of Spear Education since 2013.

It was during her Spear training that she was introduced to sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing. This additional training ultimately led to the integration of sleep apnea treatments and the expansion of her practice to incorporate sleep and airway care. She received a certificate in myofunctional therapy to further help our sleep-disordered breathing patients.

On top of this, she has taken additional education in clear aligner therapy and is a premier Invisalign provider. Today, she remains active in various dental societies, including the

  • American Dental Association
  • Oklahoma Dental Association
  • Academy of Laser Dentistry
  • American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

A Tulsa native, Dr. Hare is married with two grown sons, one of whom is now a practicing orthodontist in Oklahoma City. She is passionate about exercising daily and enjoys making recipes that both taste great and optimize her overall health.
