A Career Built Around Helping People Feel Better
Dr. Reeder’s interest in dentistry began when she was young. A childhood accident required extensive treatment on one of her front teeth, which gave her an early look at the difference thoughtful dental care can make in someone’s life. As she spent more time around dentistry, that experience grew into an interest in pursuing the profession herself. Over the years, her focus expanded beyond the teeth to include the relationship between breathing, sleep, and overall well-being. That perspective fits naturally with the mission at Healthy Sleep Tulsa: Experience Life-Changing Airway Therapy so our patients can Breathe More, Live More, Thrive More.
Dr. Reeder’s Education
and Dental Background
Dr. Reeder began her dental career in Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma State University and worked part-time as a dental assistant before completing dental hygiene education and continuing on to dental school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
After dental school, she practiced in McAlester, Oklahoma, before returning to northeast Oklahoma. She later joined her dental school classmate, Dr. Lori Hare, in building Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry.
Her decades in dentistry have given Dr. Reeder experience working with patients who have a wide range of health concerns and treatment needs. That broad foundation now supports her work in sleep and airway care at Healthy Sleep Tulsa.

Expanding Her Focus to Sleep and Breathing
As Dr. Reeder continued her education, she became increasingly interested in the ways sleep-disordered breathing can affect a person’s health and daily quality of life. In 2013, she joined Spear Education, where her continuing education included exploration of sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing.
That education broadened the way she approached patient care. Problems such as loud snoring, daytime fatigue, poor-quality sleep, and difficulty using CPAP may indicate concerns that warrant a closer look at the airway.
At Healthy Sleep Tulsa, Dr. Reeder helps patients understand those connections and explore appropriate next steps.
Helping Tulsa Patients Explore CPAP Alternatives
CPAP is an important treatment for many people with obstructive sleep apnea, but some patients have trouble wearing it consistently. Others want to know whether another treatment option may be appropriate for their diagnosis.
For qualifying patients, oral appliance therapy may provide an alternative. A custom appliance is worn during sleep to help position the jaw to support an open airway.
Dr. Reeder and the Healthy Sleep Tulsa team take time to explain:
- How custom oral appliances work
- Whether an appliance may be appropriate for a patient’s needs
- What to expect during fitting and adjustment
- How sleep testing fits into diagnosis and follow-up
- When CPAP and an oral appliance may be used together
- Why ongoing monitoring matters after treatment begins
The goal is not simply to provide an appliance. We want patients to understand their treatment and feel supported as their care progresses.
Sleep Apnea Care With Ongoing Follow-Up
Obstructive sleep apnea is a medical condition, so effective dental sleep care involves coordination and follow-up. Healthy Sleep Tulsa can help patients get set up for a home sleep study when testing is needed, while an appropriate medical provider is responsible for diagnosing sleep apnea.
For patients treated with an oral appliance, our team continues care after delivery. Follow-up may include:
- An in-office visit approximately two months after appliance delivery
- Adjustments based on comfort and treatment needs
- A titration sleep study to evaluate treatment effectiveness
- A six-month telemedicine follow-up
- Yearly telemedicine visits
- Communication with referring primary care and sleep physicians
This structured process gives Dr. Reeder and the team opportunities to check progress and address concerns rather than assuming treatment is complete once the appliance goes home.
An Experienced, Patient-Centered Approach
Patients often come to Healthy Sleep Tulsa after struggling with poor sleep for a long time. Some have already been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Others are only beginning to wonder whether snoring, fatigue, or restless sleep could signal a larger problem.
Dr. Reeder understands that the process can feel overwhelming. Her approach emphasizes conversation and education, giving patients room to ask questions and understand why a particular next step may be recommended.
Our complimentary sleep consultations are designed with that same philosophy. Patients can discuss their concerns, see examples of the appliances we use, learn more about oral appliance therapy, and get help arranging a home sleep study when appropriate.
